Casting Call

Hammerpuzzle Theatre Company in co-production with the Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham.

The Snow Queen  & Lark Rise to Candleford

We are looking to cast 3 – 4 actors to perform in two new ensemble adaptations for this year’s Christmas season at the Everyman Studio. Performance dates are from late November 2022 through to the end of December 2022.  Actors will perform in both productions in rep.

Production 1 – The Snow Queen

Gerda and Kai aren’t just friends – they’re best friends!

Every day, they hop across the roof tops to play together and sing their favourite song.

But as the snow falls on the frozen ground, a little bit of Kai’s heart seems to get lost in the frost.  It’s up to Gerda to bring him home.

Join Gerda on a magical adventure to discover the world of the Snow Queen, the enduring love of friendship and how we can help each other find the light in the dark

Production 2 – Lark Rise to Candleford

This is the story of a girl called Laura, and a place called Lark Rise…

Surrounded by golden Cotswold cornfields, the lives of this characterful community are spun out.

Laura Timmins couldn’t be more rooted in her humble home, but the books she loves talk of far off places and opportunities beyond her wildest dreams. Not to be confined by expectation, she prepares to take flight.

As the seasons move in a circle, Laura experiences the vibrancy of change and the moments of heartache in a life well lived.

We are looking for the following:

3 – 4 actor/musicians.

Being a highly skilled singer, able to learn and work in harmony is essential. Any additional musical skills are an advantage but not a necessity. The nature of the work will be ensemble based with multi role and choral work.

Please specify in your application which instruments you play if applicable.

Both organisations advocate equal opportunities and are actively encouraging applications from a diverse range of actors.

This is a co-production with the Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham.

The shows have been written and composed with original music by Tamsin Kennard, are being produced by Lizzy Stephens and will be directed by our Associate Director Bryn Holding.
