The Owl and The Pussycat
We are looking to cast a global majority actor who identifies as male or non-binary, to join the cast for our adaptation of ‘The Owl and The Pussycat’ at Tobacco Factory Theatres, in Spring 2022.
“A new adaptation of Edward Lear’s nonsense poem. The Owl and the Pussycat love each other very much, they long for adventures in a land where they can be together, and most importantly be accepted for who they are. Join them to celebrate with the most wonderful journey, full of laughter, discovery and celebration, as they sail away on a pea green boat to find a place they can call home…”
This new adaptation for early years and their families, first performed at the Everyman Theatre Cheltenham in 2019, includes Iive music and song, a lively accessible storytelling style and a poignant, timely message of inclusion and acceptance.
We are looking for someone who is A strong, confident singer, able to learn and work in harmony and ability to multi-role various different characters; as well as confident to interact with a family audience. Any additional musical skills are an advantage but not a necessity.

This is a remount and is being performed as an Easter Holiday show for children and families. The show has been written and composed with original music by Tamsin Kennard, is being produced by Lizzy Stephens and the production will be directed by our Associate Director Bryn Holding.
Rehearsals will take place:
28th March – 5th April, Rehearsal week 1 (Natural Theatre Company HQ, Bath)
Tech and Dress 6th-7th April (Factory Theatre, Tobacco Factory Theatres, Bristol)
8th-16th April (Factory Theatre, Tobacco Factory Theatres, Bristol)
Rehearsals and performance will be paid at a weekly rate of £500. Weekly substance of £135 per week will also be paid, if you are not local to Bristol.
Auditions will take place on Friday 18th February at the Natural Theatre Company HQ, Bath.
